VA Reader's Choice

For the 2011-2012 school year, WBMS will have a display for the 10 books chosen for Virginia Reader's Choice. Students need to read four of the ten books, complete the 1/2 page sheet, and then turn the form into the library desk. All students who read all 4 books will be allowed to participate in voting for their favorite book and in the pizza party in mid-March. Please see Mrs. Balsley or Mrs. Johnston for more information. Earn EXTRA credit by joining the Pageturner's Vinton Library Teen Book Club

Come join the fun at the Page Turner's Vinton library teen book club! How it works: Each month a new title will be chosen. The first Thursday of the following month the book club will hold a meeting to discuss the novel from 4-5:15 pm at the Vinton Library.  Students may bring in a note signed from a parent to ride BUS 79 from the middle school to the high school. English teachers will offer 25 extra credit points for reading these novels! In order to receive credit the student must read the book, attend the meeting and participate in the discussion. The county librarian will then sign a form that should be returned to their English teacher.

February's book is "I am Number Four" by Pittacus Lore.  Copies are available at the desk at the Vinton Library.
